Floyd L. Seim, age 64, of Dayton, OH passed away unexpectedly Wednesday August 22, 2012.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Jeanette Seim; son, Michael Joseph Seim;
and brother, Lowell Seim.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Kathy Seim; son, Paul (Sarah) Seim; step-son,
David Brinkman; grandchildren, Keaton, Kerrigan, Hadley, and Cormac Seim; sister, Rita Wyant;
and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Floyd grew up in New Lebanon, OH before serving in the US Navy. Floyd then worked as a Postal Carrier and Supervisor, eventually settling in the city of Oakwood, where he raised his family and was a resident for the last 32 years. He enjoyed working at Wild Birds Unlimited and spending time with his grandchildren during his retirement. Floyd was a member of the Dixie High School Athletic Hall of Fame and loved coaching and playing softball and soccer throughout his life. He was also an avid fossil hunter, birdwatcher, and Dayton Dragons fan. Floyd was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church serving in various positions including Praise Team, Council, Bible Study Leader, Property, Publicity, and Bookkeeping. Floyd had a tremendous sense of humor and never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation is Wednesday August 29, 2012 from 10am to 12pm with funeral service starting at 12pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 901 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, OH.
Pastor James Vannoy is officiating.
