LEO "MOOSE" SANGIOLO

Obituary

SANGIOLO, LEO "MOOSE" Leo "Moose" Sangiolo lost a hard fought battle with pneumonia on June 11 2011. Moose was loved by many and was known as a caring and giving man. His love for family stretched from his own family to the baseball fields of San Diego. Moose's love for the game of baseball placed him on all baseball fields from T-ball to high school to major league ball parks. His love for baseball started as a young boy rooting for his home town team the Boston Red Sox. His life in the Navy brought him to San Diego where he was a regular at Lane Field. When Moose started a family, he brought his two young boys Louie and Michael to Westgate Park. Moose was a Padres season ticket holder from 1976 to the present day. In Moose's later years, he was in the stands watching his grandson Brett's Pony League Mustang team take the World Series title in 1991 and his induction into the Hall of Champions in 1999. Moose will be sorely missed by his surviving family, his Navy reunion shipmates, his Petco Park family, his high school baseball teams that he supported, Tecolote baseball, his golf buddies at North Island and all of those that had the pleasure to meet this wonderful man. Leo "Moose" Sangiolo will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, July 20, 11 a.m.
