Richard M. Strong

Richard M. Strong, 50, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at University Medical Center in Lebanon, Tennessee. The Harriman, Tennessee native was born Tuesday, June 16, 1953, a son of the late Baylor Strong and Myrtle Martha McDonald Strong. He was a 1971 graduate of Northwest High School in Clarksville, Tennessee, a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Corinth Church of Christ, and a mail handler for the United States Postal Service in Nashville, Tennessee.
He is survived by a son, Christopher Strong; his fiancee, Delena Hammer, Sevierville, TN; his grandmother, Mary Marney East, of the Bugtussle Commun-ity; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Loretta Strong; a sister, Norma "Mikki" Kokotkiewicz; a sister-in-law, Alice Strong, all of Lafayette, TN. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Thomas Strong.
Funeral services for Richard M. Strong were conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 26, 2004 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Jerry Mercer and Dewayne Fox officiating. Burial was in Corinth Cemetery with military honors. Active pallbearers were Bryan Dyer, Royce Dyer, Chris Trent, Travis Cothron, Joshua Strong, and Steve Perry. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Dyer, Bobby Turner, Ronnie Williams, and Gary Williams.
Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN was in charge of arrangements.
